What Is Zinc bromide?
Zinc bromide is a chemical substance, chemical formula ZnBr2, white diamond shaped crystalline powder. Density 4.201g/cm3. Melting point 394ºC. Boiling point 650ºC. Soluble in water, alcohol. Insoluble in eth er. It is prepared by distillation of pure zinc and , or by reaction of zinc oxide and hydrobromic acid. Used as finishing agent for rayon. It can also be used for pharmaceuticals and photography. Has a strong water absorption, water or air easily become bad.
