What is Povidone Iodine?
Povidone iodine is a loose complex of elemental iodine combined with polymer support, and povidone acts as a carrier and solubilizer. It is yellow brown to brown red amorphous powder at room temperature. Slightly odorous, soluble in water or ethanol, acidic in aqueous solution, insoluble in chloroform, ethane and carbon tetrachloride. Povidone iodine aqueous solution without iodine tincture disadvantages, light color, easy elution, small stimulation to the mucosa, no ethanol deiodination, no corrosion, and low toxicity.

Povidone iodine is a broad-spectrum and powerful disinfectant, which has a strong killing effect on viruses, bacteria, fungi and mold spores. This product has little irritation to skin, low toxicity and long lasting effect. It is safe and easy to use. It is basically non-irritating to tissues and is used for skin and mucosal disinfection, such as cleaning before surgery, disinfection of surgical sites and wounds.
Povidone iodine, usually in a 10% solution, is used as a disinfectant. Effective kill: Newcastle disease, Bursal, avian influenza, Mycoplasma, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, influenza, blue ear disease, etc. It can also kill the eggs of livestock and poultry parasites and inhibit the breeding of insects such as mosquitoes and flies. And can be used in fruit trees, crops, fish and shrimp breeding.

Broad bactericidal spectrum, strong bactericidal power, can directly kill bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores and protozoa. The sterilization speed is fast, most bacteria can be killed within 30 seconds, and 5 minutes is enough to kill individual bacteria. It can be used for disinfection and treatment of body cavity, mucosa and ulcer surface without irritation to skin and mucosa. No toxicity was observed. Application of Povidone Iodine:
1. For suppurative dermatitis, skin fungal infection, small area of mild burns, but also for small area of skin, mucosal wound disinfection.
2. Bacterial, fungal vaginitis, cervical erosion, trichomonas vaginitis, pudendal itching, pudendal infection odor, yellow odor of leucorrhea, comprehensive pudendal inflammation, senile vaginitis, herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis and prevention and local treatment of condyloma acuminatum.
3. Balanitis, preputial dermatitis, external genitalia and surrounding disinfection. Prevention and topical treatment of gonorrhea, syphilis, and condyloma acuminatum.
